CPA Ontario is currently in search of a Learning Technologist who will be the “champion” for new technologies, provide thought leadership, as well as recommend and promote the learning technologies that will most effectively deploy CPA Ontario learning products to its members. The Learning Technologist will also be responsible for using learning technologies to develop/produce learning.
Recommend, develop, deploy and promote learning technologies and tools.
Create project plans for learning development and deployment.
Develop and document processes and approaches for learning development tasks.
Help maintain all learning technology software.
Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
Council the learning team on approaches, methods, processes for developing technology supported and/or deployed learning.
Curate, revise, and update programmed learning content.
Post-secondary diploma, degree or certificate is required, preferably in Education Technology, Graphic Design and/or IT, or a related field.
A minimum of 6 years’ experience in developing and deploying learning, using learning technologies is required.
Previous experience in a learning function or team, partnering with designers is required.
Experience with Learning and Content Management Systems, PC, Mac, and mobile platforms is required.
Well versed in Photoshop, Illustrator, and other tools within the Adobe Creative Suite.
High proficiency in using tools such as Articulate, Captivate, and Lectora to develop learning based on design inputs is required.
Experience in developing learning podcasts, videos, webinars, mobile learning, gaming, virtual classroom and collaborative technologies, social learning technologies, and other digital learning solutions is required.
Proven project management skills, including prototyping, rapid development, scoping development efforts, implementation (especially via an LMS) is required.
Prior experience developing and presenting business cases and promoting new learning technologies is required.
Creative and innovative.
Proven ability to shift with agility from thought leadership to hands on development.
Must be able to work independently as well as be a positive contributing member of a team, in a changing and innovative institutional environment.
Proven ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions about a course of action within the scope of the position is required.
Demonstrated ability in providing expertise and consultative support to peers in the area of development of e-learning, podcasts, webinars, and other digital learning solutions.
Awareness of learning design principles, including user interface and user experience design.
Strong computer skills with MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook, file manipulation, and remote access.
Must be able to work, prioritize and remain organized in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.
Strong portfolio of interactive eLearning courses and learning objects.
