Reporting to the Manager, Talent Management, the Senior Advisor will be accountable for implementing employee development initiatives throughout the organization. The role provides input into BCLC’s employee development strategy and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of employee development, including liaising with Lottery and Casino divisions training teams.
Works collaboratively with Manager, Talent Management by providing input into BCLC’s employee development strategy and by acting upon and implementing employee development initiatives within the organization.
Ensures the successful development and deployment of all in-house eLearning courses.
Develops, and in some cases, delivers, employee development workshops and training based upon organizational needs.
Acts as senior learning advisor, coach and mentor to others within the organization and HR department regarding employee development issues.
Works with BCLC’s eLearning course provider to ensure the successful alignment and utilization of off-the-shelf courses to BCLC’s employee development curriculum, programs and client groups.
Acts as coach and career planning guide for employees and leaders within the organization.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
University degree in adult education, talent management or a relevant discipline;
CPHR or CPLP designation preferred;
Certified Instructional Designer or Instructor Development Certificate;
4-6 years recent related professional experience, including a minimum of 2 years prior experience with competency assessments and career management;
An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Demonstrated knowledge of principles, concepts, practices and techniques in the area of adult learning and training.
Proven experience in the planning, preparation, delivery and evaluation of professional development training programs.
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to facilitate group problem solving sessions, employee focus groups, or business planning sessions.
Proven leadership and motivational skills.
Proven experience in facilitating workshops and training sessions for up to 25 participants
Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and active participation in keeping up-to-date in current learning and training techniques and technologies.
