GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Facilitate educational spaceflight simulation programs for students in grades K-12 (mainly 5-12) that contain accurate and relevant STEM principles and concepts in a way that both educates and inspires further interest in STEM and learning. The Education Associate is expected to facilitate Challenger Learning Center activities and, when needed, Planetarium activities.
EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate STEM education programs for 5-12 school students
Set up and clean up education program classroom
Monitor program materials
Assist in maintenance of educational facility
Facilitate educational programs 3 days per week - Typically 8:30am-2:00pm
Teaching experience in formal or informal learning setting
Strong presentation, communication and organization skills
Comfortable working with technology and troubleshooting issues on the fly
Dynamic, outgoing, and creative personality
Demonstrated interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
Ability to work with diverse groups, to communicate effectively with both children and adults
Demonstrated ability to take initiative in the work environment, work successfully both as a part of a team and independently
