The Instructional Design and Support Consultant will be working closely with Carolina Cancer Nanotechnology Training Program (C-CNTP) directors and mentors. The CCNTP will provide its postdoctoral trainees with individualized cross-disciplinary education using innovative instructional tools such as a) Intensive Integrated Learning Accelerating Module (iLAM) training in conjunction with flipped classrooms during the initial period in the program to remediate differences in their backgrounds, and b) workshops and didactic courses during the subsequent training period to deepen the knowledge and understanding in key areas of Nanomedicine and drug delivery, advanced technology and translational science aspects. Each workshop will be approximately equivalent to a 1 credit graduate course and trainees will be expected to complete at least 3 workshops during two years of training. The Instructional Design and Support Consultant will facilitate the creation and implementation of these training modules.
Education and Experience:
- A background in science is highly desirable. - Demonstrated skills in using Adobe Creative Cloud. - Ability to design an instructional program, educational videos and educational presentations. - Ability to develop and support a training program in higher education. - Previous experience assisting with course development in science. - Demonstrated skills in leadership-ability to lead complex collaborative efforts to achieve desired outcomes; to think strategically and plan; to think critically and creatively. - Effective communicator and collaborator-excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate openly, frankly and respectfully and work well with others. - Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization including administration, faculty, students, and staff. - Demonstrated proficiency in computer and data management skills. - Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities and activities-can handle multiple ongoing projects with attention to detail and prioritizes activities accordingly to ensure that work gets done in a timely manner. - Ability to solve complex problems-resolves complex problems in a timely manner by skillfully gathering and analyzing information. - Adaptability-ability to be both versatile and flexible, an openness and willingness to the thoughts and opinions of others and openness to change. - Quality improvement-ability to recognize opportunities for improvement in processes and efficiencies, create new approaches, and plan accordingly to implement such changes. - Experience formulating new ideas and directions, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. - A desire to learn and a commitment to excellence.
