E-Learning/Distance Learning, Instructional Design & Development
As the e-Learning Developer/Specialist Instructional Design you will provide direct support throughout Canadian Pacific in meeting corporate technical training and performance needs. You will utilize training authoring and multimedia tools and software for assigned development projects. As well, you will keep abreast of training and development research, learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques. The Specialist Instructional Design is adept at working in both Agile (SAM) and waterfall (ADDIE) environments and projects.
Conduct Front End Analysis and recommends appropriate and timely interventions which are cost effective, including but not limited to instructional interventions, for improving employees' performance and productivity;
Design, develop, evaluate, revise and support the implementation of technical training programs and related material (both in-class and online) using the principles of instructional design and performance technology;
Develop and apply evaluation processes, analyzes data and takes necessary actions in order to continuously improve training interventions, and documents the effectiveness of presented improvement interventions;
Research, develop, and coordinate implementation of corporate training standards for program design, development, delivery and evaluation;
Develop or modify existing quality instructional materials for multiple delivery methods; Instructor-Led Training (ILT) & (VILT) and complex eLearning learning (WBT);
Create instructor and participant materials, job aids that support learning initiatives, surveys, quick reference guides, FAQs, assessment instruments;
Manage technical training projects from conception to production including leading small peer project teams and/or collaborating as part of a team;
Keep up to date with innovation and current development within the fields of instructional design, adult education and learning technology in order to produce training initiatives that are effective and engaging.
A graduate degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education or Educational Technology is an asset;
Up-to-date experience with multimedia learning technologies, learning management software systems (e.g., Success Factors) and training design and development tools such as Articulate Storyline and the Adobe Creative Cloud.;
Five or more years’ experience in the design, development , implementation and evaluation of training interventions, and conducting Front End Analysis, preferably in a corporate environment;
Technical knowledge including experience with an LMS, SCORM, xAPI, content authoring, voice-over, audio, video and web-conferencing solutions and multimedia tools;
Experience in developing programs in a regulated environment would be an asset;
Previous experience managing a team would be considered an asset;
Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently and take initiative to deliver results;
Strong project management skills and experience managing multiple projects and clients.
