Working in collaboration with campus constituents you will consult, design, develop and deliver professional development solutions to strengthen our staff community; including designing eLearning modules, providing eLearning consultations and delivering workshops and training. Executing highly successful programs and services, the Instructional Design Specialist provides the community valuable learning resources.
Core responsibilities will include:
Ability to plan, design, develop and implement eLearning initiatives including courses, simulations, interactive tutorials and related materials
Ability to build strong relationships with campus partners to accurately develop eLearning materials that meet the needs of the partner's program and effectively serve the campus community
Ability to design and execute instructor-led programs related to digital design, technology and digital accessibility
Ability to interface with course authoring systems and the learning management system to complete program initiatives
Ability to design and write instructional support materials to be used during workshops, in newsletters and in course supplement documents
Excellent presentation skills; able to communicate concepts and ideas exceedingly well; strong listening and reflection capabilities
Ability to welcome and engage with an extremely diverse staff community with varying skills, abilities and characteristics
Comfortable using technology and incorporating technology resources into program and service delivery
Ability to pay close attention to detail, meet inflexible deadlines, remain calm during difficult situation, maintain confidentiality, work well independently with limited supervision, and work within an intense environment are vital qualities within Professional Development Services. You should be able to work in an active environment to include walking up and down stairs, traveling to various workshop locations, carrying materials, classroom settings and multi-purpose spaces. Weekend and evening work will be expected on occasion.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design; Organizational Development; Communications, or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience
Experience: Three to five years of related experience in training and development, organizational development, teaching or instructional design
Education: Master's Degree; Instructional or Curriculum Design; Education; Management; Leadership; Organizational Development
Experience: Five to eight years' experience in any of the following: instructional design, Elearning development; technology instruction
