Three  years of full-time experience conducting research projects or other significant scholarly work with some use of relevant computing services. Demonstrated ability to understand multiple aspects of a problem and identify appropriate solutions. Ability to provide solution-agnostic support by focusing on requirements and desired outcomes. Preferred Qualifications: PhD in a science or engineering discipline. Experience with writing grant proposals. Experience supporting research computing, high-performance computing, and/or high-throughput computing. Desire for continuous learning of relevant technology topics and effective facilitation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication, including active and empathetic listening skills and an ability to translate complex and domain-specific information for non-specialists. Demonstrated effectiveness and comfort in teaching and public speaking. Success and demonstrated interest in interpersonal networking and liaising. Desire to work in a team environment, where staff frequently depend on one another. Leadership skills that inspire action and coordinate the activities of shared contributions. Provide Research Computing "concierge" service: Collaborate with campus researchers and scholars to understand their areas of research interest and scholarly activity. Identify appropriate information technology (IT) services and approaches for researchers and scholars that help to remove barriers to their research and scholarly goals. Facilitate the connections between researchers and scholars to the appropriate IT services. Build and deliver appropriate training for campus researchers and scholars in cooperation with other staff. Develop and provide appropriate documentation in cooperation with other staff. Provide recommendations for new and expanded research computing services based on evaluations of campus needs, and advocate for the services on behalf of the campus researchers. Develop a professional knowledge network with other facilitators, both on- and off-campus. Leverage the professional network to advance research and scholarly activities. Identify potential intra- and inter-institutional collaborations. This is a part time appointment, 33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM-4:15 PM.
