Innovative Thought Leader in Instructional Design methodologies to design, implement and administer the discipline at the School of Information and Library Science (SILS). Reporting to the Associate Dean of Administration and Special Academic Programs, the Instructional Design and Development Consultant will leverage research and analysis of the function and reconcile within the University’s mission. In addition, this position will work with SILS faculty to develop online courses (both credit and noncredit) for uses including degree programs, Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), executive education and workshops.
Education and Experience:
Required: - Demonstrated skills in video production and editing - Demonstrated proficiency in computer and data management skills - Experience with one or more learning management systems (e.g., Sakai, Canvas) - Ability to design undergraduate and graduate courses using a variety of instructional strategies - Effective communicator and collaborator-excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate openly, frankly and respectfully and work well with others - Experience in coordinating an instructional design program for small to medium sized organizations - Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities and activities-can handle multiple ongoing projects with attention to detail and prioritizes activities accordingly to ensure that work gets done in a timely manner
Desired but not required: - A background in Information Science, Library Science, Cognitive Science, or Instructional Systems Design - Previous attention to strategies contributing to inclusiveness and diversity - Previous teaching experience
