The Ministry of Government and Consumer Services' Pay and Benefits Business Solutions Branch is seeking a motivated professional to design and implement training solutions and tools in respect to pay and benefits and the Workforce Information Network (WIN) system, to ensure the Ministry's customer service-focused goals are met and employees are effectively trained.
What can I expect to do in this role?
• Design and develop training modules, courses, and other learning tools that meet performance development needs • Conduct business training needs assessments to identify learning objectives in support of the Ministry's customer service-focused goals • Determine appropriate blended learning methods and facilitate learning in a classroom setting and using e-Learning • Collaborate with partners within the Ministry and other ministries to gather information and validate training materials • Create and maintain effective project plans for design and development initiatives • Deliver Train-the-Trainer sessions to orient facilitators to new and re-designed training materials
How do I qualify?
Technical Knowledge and Experience:
You have: • experience delivering and designing blended learning training programs in multiple formats (e.g. in-class and online) • expert knowledge of current adult education, learning principles and methodologies • knowledge of training and presentation techniques • experience designing courses and training modules • experience designing business training modules, courses and evaluation tools • experience identifying and assessing training needs and learning programs • experience providing instruction and guidance to staff and training participants • the ability to acquire and apply an understanding of government structures, programs, policies and practices
Communication and Relationship-Building Skills: You have: • excellent oral and written communication skills • experience preparing training materials, presentations, project plans, job aids, course maps • experience communicating and responding to the needs of all participants during training sessions • experience encouraging interaction with participants of group discussions • experience building and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of staff and learners • experience promoting and building acceptance for new modes of training delivery in order to improve effectiveness and cost-efficiency
Planning and Analytical Skills: You have: • planning, analytical and conceptual skills • project planning and time management skills • experience assessing training needs and determining appropriate training methods • experience designing training programs and ensuring content is consistent with organizational objectives and program needs • experience managing a variety of demands and participating on cross-branch projects • experience conducting program analysis, resolving problems, identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations to senior staff
You are proficient with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and utilizing web-based facilitation tools (e.g. eLearning authoring software)
Salary Range: $65,401 - $94,239 per year
