Capital Power currently has an exciting career opportunity for a Talent Management Consultant to join our Human Resources team. The TM Consultant works as part of a team of HR professionals to provide subject matter expertise for Talent Management matters related to learning & development, organizational effectiveness, and engagement. The successful candidate must be a skilled group facilitator with extensive experience in design and development of creative and effective learning solutions.
Key accountabilities include:
Support change management and organizational effectiveness initiatives;
Design and develop customized learning solutions including pilot testing, course descriptions, lesson plans, supporting materials and relevant assessment tools;
Provide classroom and virtual facilitation, and other forms of content delivery;
Create clear, concise, accurate, and effective storyboards;
Ongoing development, implementation and recommendation of strategies related to assigned talent management areas to improve organizational effectiveness and business performance;
Interfaces with client group employees, managers and leadership in the development and implementation of strategies and tactics to address their specific people issues;
Identify trends and best practices and provide recommendations of new approaches to ensure continuous improvement to Talent Management programs to meet internal stakeholder expectations, enhance employee satisfaction, engagement and performance;
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners and providers to enhance buy-in, delivery and success of talent management programs;
Drafts and manages vendor contracts and scope of work agreements within described limits.
As the successful candidate, you:
Possess a degree in Business, HR, Education or a related discipline;
Have 8 to 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience;
Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in organizational effectiveness, succession management, performance management and workforce planning;
Are a seasoned facilitator with strong presentation skills demonstrated by delivering subject matter to a diverse audience;
Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, human behavior and performance, methods for curriculum and training design and the measurement of training effectiveness are a requirement
Understand and conceptualize a wide range of human resources subjects which can be applied to Talent Management initiatives and programs;
Have strong analytical skills; able to solve problems by collaborating with others to seek input and by utilizing a logical, critical path;
Experience in using e-learning software (i.e., Articulate 360)
Are capable to use multiple forms of problems solving for dynamic and complex issues – effectively addresses problems, not symptoms;
Have the capability to effectively utilize Microsoft products (e.g. MS Office) in the development and delivery of programs;
Have experience supporting, interacting with and advising Managers and Senior Leadership;
Possess strong negotiation skills as well as relationship management, influencing strategies, collaboration, and partnership skills; and
Are a values-orientated professional that demands the highest standards of quality and service while consistently supporting the company's vision.
