We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer for our North American Headquarters District office located in Edmonton, AB.
We are looking for a dynamic, high-energy, flexible, and hard-working individual who thrives in a team environment and is passionate about workplace learning and development. The successful candidate will have proven instructional design and course development experience in a corporate environment along with the ability to translate business needs into learning solutions. In-depth knowledge of learning trends and delivery methods (including web-based and multi-media technologies) will further enable your success in this role. The candidate will have excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills with the ability to build strong relationships within a diverse organization.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to complete needs analysis, design, and develop behavioral and technical curriculum for adult learners.
Evaluate courses or programs, implement revisions, and update documentation to meet established curriculum standards.
Instructional design, development, and evaluation of classroom-based and e-learning programs based on educational standards
Planning and conducting needs analysis for blended learning programs
Continuously research best practices related to learning for design and implementation improvements.
Partner with subject matter experts and support their development and delivery of technical courses.
Experience with competency frameworks, student assessment, course and program evaluation methodologies, or project management would be considered a strong asset.
Some travel may be required.
Minimum of five years of needs analysis and instructional design, at least three years of this in a corporate environment.
Knowledge of adult learning and instructional design theory and best practices along with a BEd in Adult Education or Instructional Design or equivalent is preferred, however, equivalent experience will be considered.
Understand adult learning theory and be able to apply adult learning methodologies.
Knowledge of e-learning development tools and software will be considered an asset
Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning, as shown by the completion of certifications and/or additional formal education, will receive preference.
