Capital Power currently has an exciting career opportunity for a Talent Management (TM) Consultant to join our Human Resources team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Talent Management, the TM Consultant works as part of a team of HR professionals to provide subject matter expertise for Talent Management matters related to: learning & development, program design, development and delivery, organizational effectiveness and engagement. A critical part of the role is to foster and maintain positive, collaborative and productive relationships with peers in Human Resources to deliver HR programs to support Capital Power success. The successful candidate must have the ability to function independently, while simultaneously managing multiple priorities.
Facilitate onboarding and orientations, employee learning programs, workshops and team sessions as required. Conducts and participates in pilot testing of educational material and sessions;
Instructional design, development, and evaluation of classroom-based and e-learning programs based on educational standards;
Partner with subject matter experts and support their development and delivery of courses;
Evaluate courses or programs, implement revisions, and update documentation to meet established curriculum standards;
Working knowledge of a Learning Management System(s) (LMS);
Ongoing development, implementation and recommendation of strategies related to assigned Talent Management areas to improve organizational effectiveness and business performance;
Interface with client group employees, managers and leadership in the development and implementation of strategies and tactics to address their specific people issues;
Support change management and organizational effectiveness initiatives;
Make recommendations to corporate policies, processes and programs as they relate to Talent Management initiatives;
Identify trends and best practices and provide recommendations of new approaches to ensure continuous improvement to Talent Management programs to meet internal stakeholder expectations, enhance employee satisfaction, engagement and performance;
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners and providers to enhance buy-in, delivery and success of talent management programs;
Draft and manage vendor contracts and scope of work agreements within described limits;
Experience with competency frameworks, student assessment, course and program evaluation methodologies, or project management would be considered a strong asset.
As the successful candidate, you:
Possess a degree in Business, HR, Education or a related discipline;
Have 8 to 10 years of progressive Human Resources experience;
Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in design, development, facilitation and organizational effectiveness;
Understand and conceptualize a wide range of human resources subjects which can be applied to Talent Management initiatives and programs;
Have strong analytical skills; able to solve problems by collaborating with others to seek input and by utilizing a logical, critical path;
Possess strong communication skills, both written and oral: can write, edit and review training related documents and materials;
Embody strong facilitation and presentation skills demonstrated by delivering subject matter to a diverse audience;
Demonstrate the capability to develop and identify concepts/constructs from abstract information;
Are capable to use multiple forms of problem solving for dynamic and complex issues – effectively addresses problems, not symptoms;
Demonstrate the capability to research, develop, lead and manage projects of varying complexity;
Have the capability to effectively utilize Microsoft products (ex. MS Office) in the development and delivery of programs;
Have experience supporting, interacting with and advising Managers and Senior Leadership;
Can manage multiple internal and external stakeholder relationships;
Possess strong negotiation skills as well as relationship management, influencing strategies, collaboration, and partnership skills;
