Position Overview Reporting to the Director, Education & Events, the Coordinator, Education & Events will support the delivery of high quality professional development to CSCM members. This education is delivered via national conferences, awards, workshops, webinars and a quarterly magazine.
The Coordinator will assist the Director in the all aspects of planning and executing national events and conferences in conjunction with Branch planning committees. In addition, this role will have a strong communications element and will provide administrative support in the education and events areas. This role would suit an individual that enjoys a fast-paced environment and working on all aspects of a project.
Education & Awards • Support the development and delivery of education events and programs for the Society to include: annual National Conference; annual Food & Beverage Management Conference; Governance Workshop; Business Management Institute (BMI) Workshop • Evaluate and assist with the delivery of CMI courses at the national conferences and other branch meetings including speaker management, event evaluation and certification credit management ensuring to track registration revenues and arrange for the distribution of revenues to the host group (if appropriate) • Act as the key contact for the CSCM mentorship program, ensuring correct documentation is maintained and training objectives met for future CCEs • Entry of credits in accordance with certification program policies; and • Coordinate an outreach program to members regarding available awards and consider opportunities to secure sponsorships, working with the Director, Education & Events
Club Manager Quarterly Magazine • Work with the Director, Education & Events, and the Chief Executive Officer to support the Editorial Advisory Committee and create an editorial calendar for the magazine and a repository of relevant content • Work with the off-site editor/designer to deliver each issue in a timely manner • Ensure compliance with corporate partner agreements and ensuring advertising contracts are implemented and invoices are forwarded • Coordinate subscriptions for the magazine, ensuring articles from each issue are archived on the website and copies of each issue are distributed to the authors
Events • Coordinate event logistics and budgets as directed by the Director, Education & Events • Create and maintain all key event documentation • Develop qualitative and quantitative reporting to track the success of outreach efforts • Administration of all aspects of the registration process for assigned events • Administration of event evaluation including the distribution and collation of evaluations
Other • Record minutes of meetings as required • Other duties, as required
Requirements • Post-secondary degree/diploma is preferred • Minimum three years’ education management experience working with a professional association and/or learning institution • Minimum three years’ event planning experience • Strong organizational abilities and time management skills • Top-notch project management skills, including planning, implementation and evaluation • Excellent marketing and communications skills (written and oral) • Strong interpersonal skills that include listening, responsiveness and a professional, customer-service oriented approach to all situations • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database management • Bilingual in English and French is considered an asset • Flexibility to work overtime when required and travel for off-site conferences/events • Understanding of the hospitality and/or club management industry desirable • Volunteer management and/or not-for profit work experience considered an asset
Additional Salary Information: Location: Renforth & Eglinton in Etobicoke, moving to Queensway & Hwy. 427 in October 2018.
